Events – Celebrate Community & Curiosity
From maple sugaring season to art-making adventures, CMNEK hosts events that bring our community together in meaningful and magical ways. Whether it’s a puppet show, a maker’s workshop, or a day dedicated to local legends, our events are crafted to inspire wonder, ignite imagination, and create lasting memories for families and friends of all ages.

Final Fridays
We’re thrilled to be part of Final Fridays in downtown Saint Johnsbury this summer! On three special Fridays starting in June, the Children’s Museum of the Northeast Kingdom will host a hands-on activity booth full of playful discovery. Kids can “go fishing” in our kiddie pool, color their favorite Northeast Kingdom scenes, build with trains, and dive into creative fun inspired by our local culture and landscape. It’s a perfect way to celebrate summer, community, and curiosity—come play with us!

Newport Winter Carnival Pop Up
We brought the magic of the Children’s Museum of the Northeast Kingdom to the Newport Winter Carnival—and what a joyful day it was! Families gathered in the gym to explore our “Build the NEK” activity zone, where kids dove into Lincoln Logs, trains, and imaginative play inspired by local landscapes. Our used book fundraiser made a return, offering stories for just 25 cents, and sparking smiles across generations. With hands-on fun, historic photos of the Kingdom, and the warm spirit of community, this pop-up brought a taste of what’s to come at CMNEK. Thanks to everyone who stopped by—we can’t wait to see you again soon!

First Night North
We launched the Children’s Museum of the Northeast Kingdom with a joyful sneak peek during First Night North in Saint Johnsbury! Families stopped by our pop-up exhibit to play with Lincoln Logs, build imaginary worlds with wooden trains, color tractors and trains, and watch a short film about maple syrup making. We also hosted a used book sale fundraiser—thanks to the generous donations, kids picked out stories for just 25 cents each! It was a cozy, creative, and community-filled celebration of local heritage and hands-on learning. This was just the beginning—and we’re excited for what’s ahead!
